Provincial Committees

Before adding to the pastoral plan with other priorities, council decided to take a look at the Provincial Committee Structure. The province has already reduced the size of Chapter, and the next elected provincial council will have one fewer member. It was thought that over recent years the number of provincial committees had been more than were necessary and that fewer committees might achieve more and coordinate better.

It was therefore decided to have the following committees:

  • Finance
  • Marist Life (including all aspects of Marist life such as vocations, initial formation and older confreres)
  • Parishes, Pastoral Areas and Maori
  • Youth, Foreign Lands, Education, Spirituality.
