General Chapter: First Decisions

During the first day of the Chapter, the proposed Ordo Capituli was discussed, amended and accepted. Fr Jan Hulshof was elected President of the Chapter and John Hannan, Rene Iturbe and Lote Raiwalui were elected as members of the Steering Committee. Tony Corcoran was elected as Secretary of the Chapter. Fr Hulshof also presented a summary of his report. He drew attention to the fact that the report was about the work of the Superior General and his team over the past eight years, talked about the challenge of interpreting the reality facing our Society, reminded us of Jesus’ call to deep trust and fidelity, and spoke of some of the challenges for the future.
