General Chapter: Legistative changes

After the joyful excitement of the election of our new Superior General, Fr John Hannan, yesterday, the capitulants once again took up the task of discussing matters at hand.

Besides needing to address proposed changes to our legislation, which had been circulated yesterday afternoon, the capitulants began the day by discussing Marist ministries in the context of today’s world and then by developing possible scenarios for the new General Council.

The day was completed by an informative and helpful exchange between Marist Laity guests from England, France, Italy and Ireland and the capitulants. The focus of their discussion and conversation was The Marist Fathers and brothers’ relationship with the Marist Laity in the light of our Marist mission today.

A rest day has bee scheduled for tomorrow.
