John Rea: Healing ministry

johnreablessingcropped

John Rea’s ministry of healing is a gift he’s been given. “I just pray with people for healing and the rest is up to the Lord,” he said.

Fr John welcomes you making contact with him.

John is a humble man, there is however little doubt that he is an agent of God’s healing and he leaves a trail of healings in his tracks.

Among this list of those healed as a result of John’s prayer with them, includes a woman whose cancer disappeared, a child violinist whose crushed hand was cured, and a dumb teenager with paralysis whose paralysis and speech was reversed.

No longer surprised by the healings. “When this is been happening for so long, you can hardly call it luck,” he says.

John Rea has been praying with people in this way since 1974.

The one constant that he’s identified is the need for faith.

It may not be the faith of the person who is healed, but can be that of a friend, parent, or loved one.

There is no set formula for his prayer, except to say they are simple and not long.

Praying for people however doesn’t guarantee healing and some people naturally get disappointed. John however doesn’t give up, he has a list of people he prays for by name each day.

Talkback caller Shirley

An example of John’s gift became very public when a Talkback caller, Shirley phoned into radio station, Newstalk ZB. Shirley had been diagnosed with Cancer, was having a “down day” and all her support people had gone away.

Some time later Shirley called back saying that she had been to a hands on healing meeting at a church and she no longer had Cancer.

Shirley’s second call sparked a five-hour conversation, with other people phoning in and adding their thoughts and sharing their experiences. In the course of the five-hour conversation, Fr John Rea’s name was mentioned regularly, on the radio, through email and SMS / TXT messages.

The host of the program, Pat Brittenden undertook to find John and invite him onto his show and discuss his ministry of healing on NewstalkZB.
