Hundreds of Italians join Marists for 100 year celebration

Italian Marists along with numerous ex-alumni of the Seminary of Il Rivaio and the local parishioners of La Madonna delle Grazie with Fr. Lorenzo Curti and his confreres, celebrated the centenary of our Marist presence in the charming Tuscan city of Castiglion Fiorentino.

Hundreds of guests took part in the celebrations which were marked by a spirit of joy and profound gratitude for the many graces received over a period of a hundred years.

The celebration took place from Thursday 1 to Sunday 4 October. Bishop Riccardo Fontana of Arezzo was main celebrant in the Eucharist of Saturday evening and Fr Jan Hulshof, the outgoing superior general on Sunday morning. Fr. Joaquín Fernández represented the province of Europe.

On Friday evening an impressive Album dei Ricordi of Il Rivaio, composed by Fr. Giovanni Colosio, was presented to the public.
