Biblical Stewardship for Bursars

David Kennerley presented at talk at the Annual congregational Bursar’s Seminar on the management of resources within a biblical framework.

The seminar was held yesterday, and while it is an opportunity to share views and for bursars to meet with each other again, the seminar provided helpful assistance to bursars in keeping them updated with compliance and financial administration issues.

David’s presentation took participants a little further than compliance and administration and opened up the concept of “Biblical Stewardship”, that is not simply as an appeal for funds, but as a generous giving of God-given gifts of time, talent and treasure. David also highlighted a distinction between religious congregations as “Stewards of Gods Gifts” or as “Servants of the generous God.” In speaking of this distinction, he highlighted the importance for religious congregations to take on the heart and mind of Christ who came to serve.

David has recently been appointed to the New Zealand Province’s Finance Committee.
