New Provincial for Europe
The Superior General has confirmed the election of Fr Hubert Bonnet-Eymard as provincial superior of Europe. Hubert is well known to most of the Society, having served as an assistant in the previous general administration of Fr Jan Hulshof; previous to that he had served as provincial of France. At the moment he is in the midst of a well-earned sabbatical period following his time in Rome.
Coordinator for Marist Laity
The superior general has appointed Fr Lote Raiwalui as Coordinator for Marist Laity. This puts into effect a decision of the general chapter that, at every level of administration (general, provincial/district, regional and community), a Marist will be appointed to promote the Marist laity as an integral part of the Marist family
International Formation Committee
The superior general has appointed to the International Formation Committee the following confreres, two major superiors and one formator: Frs Damien Diouf (Africa), Ted Keating (USA) and Milikiade Raiyalu (Oceania). They join the continuing members: major superiors, Frs Paul Donoghue (Oceania) and Larry Sabud (Philippines); and, formator, Fr Roberto Furtuoso (Brazil). The task of the committee is to assist the superior general in matters of formation.
