The International Formation Committee met at the General House, Rome, this week.
The Committee discussed the International English Language Novitiate now established in the Philippines, and has made recommendations to the superior general regarding the staffing of the International Spanish-Language Novitiate and the International Theologate. An English-speaking renewal group began recently at La Neylière, France and began their pilgrimage to Marist Places, guided by Fr Bernd Kordes, with a visit to Le Puy.
The nine participants are Joel Aliligay (Ph), Kevin Duggan (USA), Leonard Hivirkon (O), John Hopkinson (S), Ron Nikodem (USA), Joseph Kluwen (O), Bruce Leary (USA), Giuliano Sellini (PV) and Kevin Stewart (S). They come from a broad range of ministries across the SM world.

On Thursday 16 April the Province together with the French Embassy in New Zealand and the General Administration and Academics gathered at the National Archives building in Murphy Street, Wellington for the launch of Lettres recues D’Oceanie. This ten volume anthology edited by Fr Charles Girard of the USA Province contains the collection of extant letters from the early Missionaries back to France and Rome. The “national theological college” is off to a very good start this year with unprecedented student numbers. Helped by one of the largest intakes that Holy Cross Seminary has had in recent years (9 students) the College has begun the year with 70 students on its books.
