The Vocations Hikoi sets off this Sunday with Pat Brophy and Frank Bird and travels via Whangarei, Okaihau, the Seminary, the Mission, Kopua and Pukekaraka. They hope to complete the trip next Sunday with a barbeque in Wellington.
International Formation Committee
The superior general has appointed to the International Formation Committee the following confreres, two major superiors and one formator: Frs Damien Diouf (Africa), Ted Keating (USA) and Milikiade Raiyalu (Oceania). They join the continuing members: major superiors, Frs Paul Donoghue (Oceania) and Larry Sabud (Philippines); and, formator, Fr Roberto Furtuoso (Brazil). The task of the committee is to assist the superior general in matters of formation.
Silverstream educator honoured
Des Boyle was honoured recently for 40 years service at Silverstream. He plans to continue part-time till the end of the year. He features in the Upper Hutt Leader feted for his 40 years service.
New community house and mission base in Hawkes Bay
The Society of Mary has purchased a four-bedroom house in Taradale, near the Church Road Winery. As announced in the Marist Appointments for 2010, the house will be the home and mission-base for Frank Twiss, Earl Crotty and Bill Archer.
