Matt Crawford’s ordination date set
Matt Crawford is due to be ordained a priest on Saturday 4 September. The ordination will take place at 11am in his home parish of St Francis Xavier, Whangarei.
Having completed his theology studies, Matt is currently ministering as a Deacon at St Mary of the Angels parish in Wellington.
Looking to go teaching next year, Matt is also attending Wellington Teachers College. At the moment he is “on section” at St Mary’s College.
Theology on Tap at St Mary of the Angels
Theology on Tap is one of the new faith events at St Mary of the Angels in Wellington.
Theology on tap is a monthly event following the 5pm Sunday Mass where the St Mary of the Angels Young Adult Catholics invade the pub across the road from the Church, have a drink, meet with other young Catholics and listen to the guest speaker of the month talk about issues topical to young people. Iceland Volcano eruption disrupts NZ Provincial election
Votes for the election of the New Zealand Marist Provincial have been disrupted by Iceland’s Eyjafjallajökull Volcano eruption and will now be counted in New Zealand.
New Marist legislation requires the votes for electing a provincial be counted in Rome, however with the likely backlog of mail, permission was sought from the Superior General to count the votes in New Zealand.
After consulting his council, the Superior General has granted the request.
